Thanks to the generous support of our community, the Grindstone Lake Foundation has raised $468,000 (over half of what we need) to gain clear title to the Grindstone Lake Cranberry Bog and put it into permanent protection from agricultural or residential development. More good news just arrived….A MATCHING GRANT FOR $200,000 was received. We need your donations to secure the full match, raise the final $400,000, and complete the purchase of the bog!
As a WI DNR designated “Outstanding Resource Water,” Grindstone Lake provides outstanding recreational opportunities, supports valuable fishery and wildlife habitat, and has very good water quality. It is an amazing place we enjoy with family and friends! The Foundation’s objectives are to maintain this designation by securing and restoring the land, thereby protecting Grindstone Lake and its natural ecosystem. WITH YOUR HELP, we can protect the bog property from development and improve the quality of our lake for years and generations to come.
